The Chelan Basin Conservancy is committed to protecting your privacy and will make every reasonable effort to keep your personal information secure, as outlined in the privacy policy below.

This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the www.chelanbasinconservancy.org web site, owned and operated by CBC.

Contact and Credit Card Information to donate, join, share your story, register for events, sign-up for our newsletters and alerts, or purchase merchandise, we will collect the following types of information: your name, address, mailing address, e-mail address, phone number and/or credit card information. In the event that you make a transaction to send something to a recipient other than yourself, you will need to submit the recipient’s address and phone number.

An Internet Protocol (IP) address is the number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet. We collect an IP address from all visitors to our web site. We use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, administer our web site, analyze usage trends and gather broad demographic information. Other Personal Information: There may be an occasion when the Chelan Basin Conservancy will ask for additional information, such as your connection to the Chelan Basin (resident, land-owner, visitor etc.), conservation interests, company, or other affiliations etc. This information allows us to understand and respond to your needs, and provide you with information, services, and benefits that may be valuable to you.

You may decide to send CBC personally-identifying information, for example, in an e-mail message requesting information about your membership or a donation. We will use this information to determine how to respond to you and we may add your information to our database. If you wish to view, modify, or remove your Personal Information from our records, please see the section: Updating or Deleting Your Personal Information. It is important to note that we legally cannot remove a record from our database if that record contains information containing donations. At your request, the record may be marked to receive no other mailings.

CBC has appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the private information we collect online to help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information. Specifically, our online donation systems use Secure Socket Layer Encryption.

If you wish to stop receiving non-essential business communication from CBC, you may opt-out at any time. Please include enough information so that we may identify you, the specific communication for which you’d like to unsubscribe, and a brief explanation so that we can comply with your request.

Donor Lists
It is our general practice to acknowledge those who have donated to the CBC. We respect your right to privacy, so if you choose to give anonymously or in someone else’s name, we are happy to honor your request, as long as you clearly notify us of this desire.

The Chelan Basin Conservancy (CBC) complies fully with Federal Law including: CHILDREN: CBC fully complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA) and does not knowingly collect identifiable personal information from children under age 13. Should we discover a person under the age of 13 has provided us with any personally identifiable information, we will delete that information from our systems, unless the individual under the age of 13 has donated, in which case the donation will be listed with their family.

The Chelan Basin Conservancy (CBC) observes the following practices to ensure we avoid negative SPAM practices:

• Always offers recipients of e-mail marketing and e-Newsletters a clear means of opting out from the receipt of future messages;
• Never uses false or misleading header information in any e-mail message;
